How to Manage Custom Payment Options

How to Manage Custom Payment Options

Overview

Custom payment options allow restaurant owners to offer payment methods such as cash on delivery or payment at the counter. You can add custom options, enable or disable them, and control which order service types can use each method.

Step 1: Open Payment Options

  1. Log in to your restaurant dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Settings → Payments → Payment options.
  3. Locate the Custom options section.

Step 2: Enable Custom Payment Options

  1. Find the toggle beside Custom options.
  2. Turn it on to make custom payment methods available.
  3. Review the existing payment methods listed below.

When custom options are enabled, customers can select an available custom payment method during checkout.

Step 3: Add a Custom Payment Method

  1. Click Add custom option.
  2. Enter the name of the payment method in the new text field. For example, Cash on delivery.
  3. Use the toggle beside the method to enable or disable it.

Repeat these steps to add additional custom payment methods as required.

Step 4: Enable or Disable a Payment Method

  1. Locate the custom payment method you want to manage.
  2. Use the toggle beside its name.
  3. Enable the toggle to offer the method or disable it to stop offering it.

Review the setting before leaving the page.

Step 5: Remove a Custom Payment Method

  1. Locate the payment method you want to remove.
  2. Click the X beside that method.
  3. Confirm the change if prompted.

Only remove a payment method if you no longer want to offer it to customers.

Step 6: Set Availability by Service Type

The Availability by service type section lets you control which custom payment methods are available for different order types.

The available service types are:

  • Delivery
  • Pickup
  • Dine-in

To configure availability:

  1. Locate the payment method in the availability table.
  2. Find the column for Delivery, Pickup, or Dine-in.
  3. Select or clear the checkbox as required.
  4. Repeat for the other service types.
  5. Click Save to apply your changes.

The page indicates that leaving a row unchanged keeps the payment method available for all service types.

Step 7: Verify the Checkout Options

  1. Open your restaurant storefront.
  2. Proceed to checkout using the relevant service type.
  3. Review the payment methods displayed.
  4. Confirm that the available options match your settings.

Repeat the check for other service types if necessary.

Important Notes

  • Custom payment options are managed separately from online payment gateways.
  • Customers see payment methods according to the options enabled in your settings.
  • Review service-type availability carefully before saving.
  • If you disable or remove a method, check that your remaining payment options meet your restaurant's needs.
