How to Find Razorpay API Keys and Webhook Secret

How to Find Razorpay API Keys and Webhook Secret

To connect Razorpay to your restaurant dashboard, you may need your Key ID, Key Secret, and Webhook Secret. Follow the steps below to locate these details in your Razorpay account.

1. Find Your Key ID and Key Secret

  1. Log in to your Razorpay Dashboard.
  2. Select the required mode: Test Mode for testing or Live Mode for accepting real payments.
  3. Go to Account & Settings → API Keys. Depending on your dashboard layout, this option may appear under the website and app settings.
  4. Click Generate Key if you need to create a new API key for the selected mode.
  5. Copy the Key ID and Key Secret when they are displayed.
  6. Store both credentials securely.

Important: Razorpay may show the Key Secret only when it is generated. If you did not save it, you may need to regenerate the API key and update the credentials wherever the old key was used.

2. Find Your Webhook Secret

  1. In the Razorpay Dashboard, open Account & Settings → Webhooks.
  2. Open the existing webhook configuration, or create a new webhook if required.
  3. Locate the Secret field in the webhook configuration.
  4. Copy the Webhook Secret you configured for that webhook.

The Webhook Secret is separate from the API Key Secret. If you cannot view the existing secret, edit the webhook and set a new one if needed. Make sure the same secret is entered in your restaurant dashboard.

3. Enter the Credentials in Your Restaurant Dashboard

  1. Log in to your restaurant dashboard.
  2. Go to Settings → Payments → Payment options.
  3. Open Manage gateways and select Razorpay.
  4. Enter the credentials in the matching fields:
    • Key ID: Your Razorpay API Key ID.
    • Key Secret: Your Razorpay API Key Secret.
    • Webhook Secret: The secret configured for your Razorpay webhook.
  5. Review the details and click Save.

4. Important Notes

  • Use Test Mode credentials only for testing and Live Mode credentials when configuring live payments.
  • Do not mix Test Mode and Live Mode credentials.
  • Never share your Key Secret or Webhook Secret publicly.
  • If you regenerate an API key or change your Webhook Secret, update the corresponding details in your restaurant dashboard.
  • Test the integration before accepting live payments.
