How to Verify Catering Settings on the Storefront

How to Verify Catering Settings on the Storefront

Overview

After configuring Catering in Ressto, restaurant owners can check the storefront to confirm that their changes appear as expected.

This verification helps identify configuration issues before guests use the Catering enquiry form.

Where to Find It

  1. Log in to your Ressto admin dashboard.
  2. Go to Settings → Catering.
  3. Review the configuration you want to verify.
  4. Open your Catering storefront to check the result.

1. Verify the Catering Storefront Title

  1. Open Settings → Catering → General.
  2. Review the Storefront title field.
  3. Confirm that it contains your intended title.
  4. Open the Catering storefront and check the displayed title.

2. Verify Lead Time and Guest Limits

  1. Review the Lead time (days) setting.
  2. Check the Minimum guests and Maximum guests values.
  3. Save any changes.
  4. Open the Catering storefront.
  5. Test the form with an event date and guest count that meet the configured requirements.

3. Verify Standard Form Fields

  1. Open Settings → Catering → Form fields.
  2. Check the Show and Required toggles for the available fields.
  3. Click Save changes if you make any updates.
  4. Open the Catering storefront.
  5. Confirm that the intended fields appear and that required fields behave as expected.

The Full name field is always shown in the settings.

4. Verify Custom Fields

  1. Open Settings → Catering → Custom fields.
  2. Check the labels and field types of your custom questions.
  3. Review the Required settings.
  4. Save any changes.
  5. Open the Catering storefront and confirm that the custom questions appear as expected.

5. Verify Catering Menu Items

  1. Open Settings → Catering → Catering items.
  2. Review the selected menu items.
  3. Remember that an empty selection offers all menu items.
  4. Click Save changes after making any updates.
  5. Open the Catering storefront and verify the available items.

6. Test the Enquiry Form

After checking the individual settings:

  1. Open the Catering storefront.

  1. Review the title and available menu items.
  2. Check the standard and custom form fields.
  3. Test the form with valid information and guest counts.
  4. Verify that the configured requirements are reflected as expected.

If you do not want to create a real enquiry during testing, avoid submitting the form unless you have confirmed how your test environment handles submissions.

Troubleshooting

If the storefront does not reflect your settings:

  • Confirm that you clicked Save changes.
  • Reopen the relevant settings section and check that your configuration was retained.
  • Reload the Catering storefront.
  • Check the affected field, guest limit, lead time, or menu selection again.
  • If the issue persists, capture screenshots of the settings and storefront and contact Ressto support.

Important Notes

  • Verify each setting against the actual storefront rather than relying only on the dashboard configuration.
  • Test guest limits and lead time using values that meet your configured requirements.
  • An empty Catering items selection means all menu items are offered.
  • Do not assume that a change has taken effect until you have checked the storefront.

Quick Checklist

  • Verified the storefront title.
  • Checked lead time and guest limits.
  • Verified standard form fields.
  • Checked custom fields.
  • Verified catering menu items.
  • Tested the storefront.
  • Reported any remaining issues with screenshots.
