How to Troubleshoot Table Reservation Availability

How to Troubleshoot Table Reservation Availability

Overview

If customers cannot find the expected reservation dates or time slots on your storefront, review your table reservation settings. Reservation availability can depend on your operating hours, booking limits, time intervals, and booking lead time.

This guide helps restaurant owners check the main settings that affect reservation availability.

Where to Find It

Go to Settings → Table Reservation and review the following sections:

  • General
  • Book a table Hours
  • Booking fields

1. Check Reservation Hours

  1. Open Book a table Hours.
  2. Confirm that Set different operating hours for Book a table service is configured as intended.
  3. Check that the correct days have the Open toggle enabled.
  4. Verify the opening and closing times.
  5. Check that any additional time slots are configured correctly.
  6. Click Save Hours if you make changes.

If a day is marked closed or the relevant time falls outside the configured hours, the expected reservation slot may not be available.

2. Check Maximum Days Ahead

  1. Open Settings → Table Reservation → General.
  2. Find Maximum Days Ahead.
  3. Verify that the configured number of days matches your reservation policy.
  4. Click Save changes if you update the setting.

If the requested date is beyond the configured booking window, customers may not be able to select it.

3. Check Booking Lead Time

  1. In the General tab, locate Booking Lead Time (mins).
  2. Review the minimum time required before a reservation can be made.
  3. Adjust the value if it does not match your intended booking policy.
  4. Click Save changes.

For example, a lead time of 120 minutes requires customers to book at least two hours before their selected reservation time.

4. Check Time Interval

Review Time Interval (mins) in the General tab.

This setting determines the spacing between available reservation slots. If the desired time does not align with the configured interval, another time may be offered instead.

5. Check Guest Limits

In the General tab, review:

  • Minimum No. of Guests
  • Maximum No. of Guests

Make sure the requested party size falls within the configured limits. Leave a field blank if you do not want to enforce that particular limit.

6. Check the Storefront

After reviewing the settings:

  1. Save any changes.
  2. Open the reservation form on your storefront.
  3. Check the intended date and time.
  4. Test with a guest count within your configured limits.
  5. Confirm that the available options match your settings.

Important Notes

  • Change only the settings that are relevant to the issue.
  • Reservation availability may depend on more than one setting.
  • If the expected slot remains unavailable after checking these settings, investigate other reservation rules or contact your platform support team.

Final Checklist

Before escalating the issue, confirm that:

  • The reservation service is open on the relevant day.
  • Opening and closing times are correct.
  • The requested date is within the advance booking window.
  • Booking lead time allows the selected time.
  • Time intervals are configured appropriately.
  • The guest count falls within the allowed limits.
  • Changes have been saved and the storefront has been checked.
