How to Manage Dine-in Scheduling

How to Manage Dine-in Scheduling

Overview

Dine-in scheduling allows restaurant owners to control whether customers can schedule orders for a future time and configure the time slots available on the storefront.

You can set advance booking limits, adjust the spacing between time slots, configure the first slot offset, and decide whether customers must schedule their orders in advance.

Where to Find It

Go to Settings → Dine-in → Scheduling.

  • Store Front View

How to Configure Dine-in Scheduling

  1. Open the Scheduling tab.
  2. Enable Schedule Advance Orders to allow customers to schedule orders for a future time.
  3. Under Minimum time in advance, enter the minimum amount of time before an order can be scheduled. Select the appropriate unit, such as minutes, hours, or days.
  4. Under Maximum time in advance, enter how far into the future customers can schedule an order.
  5. Under Time gap between slots, select the interval between available time slots.
  6. Under First order offset (minutes), enter the number of minutes after opening before the first order slot is offered.
  7. Enable or disable Show slot as a range, depending on how you want time slots displayed on the storefront.
  8. Enable Allow only scheduled orders if customers must select a future time instead of placing an immediate order.
  9. Click Save Scheduling to apply the scheduling settings.

Understanding the Settings

  • Schedule Advance Orders: Enables or disables future order scheduling.
  • Minimum time in advance: Defines how soon a customer can schedule an order.
  • Maximum time in advance: Defines the furthest date or time customers can schedule.
  • Time gap between slots: Controls the interval between available time slots, such as 30 minutes or one hour.
  • First order offset (minutes): Delays the first available slot by the configured number of minutes after opening.
  • Show slot as a range: Displays a time window, such as 7:00 PM–7:30 PM, instead of only the start time.
  • Allow only scheduled orders: Requires customers to select a future time rather than placing an immediate order.

Example

Suppose your restaurant opens at 12:00 PM and you configure:

  • Minimum advance time: 30 minutes
  • Time gap between slots: 30 minutes
  • First order offset: 15 minutes
  • Show slot as a range: Enabled

The first available slot may begin at 12:15 PM, subject to your configured operating hours and scheduling rules.

The storefront can display available slots as time ranges.

Important Notes

  • Scheduling options work together with your dine-in business hours.
  • Available slots depend on the configured hours and advance booking limits.
  • If Allow only scheduled orders is enabled, immediate ordering is turned off for this service.
  • Review your settings carefully before saving to ensure that the available times match your restaurant's requirements.

Final Step

Click Save Scheduling and check the dine-in storefront to confirm that the available scheduling options appear as expected.
