How to Customize Catering Enquiry Form Fields
How to Customize Catering Enquiry Form Fields
Overview
The catering enquiry form allows restaurant owners to collect the information needed to understand a guest's event requirements.
In Settings → Catering, you can control which standard fields appear on the form, which fields are required, and which additional questions guests should answer.

Where to Find It
- Log in to your restaurant admin dashboard.
- Go to Settings → Catering.
- Locate the Form fields and Custom fields sections.
1. Configure Standard Form Fields

The settings include the following standard fields:
Field | Purpose |
|---|---|
Full name | Identifies the person or company making the enquiry. This field is always shown. |
Collects the guest's email address. | |
Phone | Collects a contact phone number. |
Event details | Collects information about the event. |
Type (delivery / pickup) | Allows guests to specify the service type. |
Delivery address | Collects the delivery location when applicable. |
Invoice details | Allows guests to provide invoice-related information. |
The available controls differ by field.
2. Show or Hide a Field
For fields with a Show toggle:
- Find the field you want to configure.
- Enable Show to display it on the catering enquiry form.
- Disable Show to hide it.
- Repeat for other fields as needed.
The Full name field is marked Always shown and cannot be hidden through the controls displayed in the screenshot.
3. Make a Field Required
For fields that provide a Required toggle:
- Locate the relevant field.
- Enable Show if the field needs to appear on the form.
- Enable Required if guests must complete it.
- Leave Required disabled if the field should be optional.
Example: You may choose to display the Email and Phone fields without making both mandatory, depending on how your restaurant prefers to receive enquiries.
Make sure your required fields collect enough information for your team to respond to catering requests.
4. Add Custom Questions
Use the Custom fields section to collect information that is not covered by the standard fields.
- Locate Custom fields.
- Enter a question or label in the field labelled Field label (e.g. Allergies).
- Select the available field type, such as Short text.
- Enable Required if the guest must answer the question.
- Click + Add custom field to add another question.
- Repeat as needed.
Possible custom questions include:
- Allergies or dietary requirements
- Event theme or occasion
- Special catering instructions
These are examples of questions you can create; configure them according to your restaurant's needs.
5. Save and Verify Your Changes
- Review the visibility of each standard field.
- Check which fields are marked as required.
- Review your custom questions.
- Click Save changes.
- Open the catering storefront and verify that the form displays the intended fields.
Important Notes
- A field must be shown on the form to collect its information from guests.
- The Required toggle is available only for the fields that display this control.
- The Full name field is always shown.
- Avoid making unnecessary fields mandatory, as this can make the enquiry form harder to complete.
Quick Checklist
- Reviewed the standard catering form fields.
- Enabled or disabled the appropriate fields.
- Configured required fields.
- Added custom questions where needed.
- Saved the changes.
- Tested the catering enquiry form on the storefront.
