How to Configure Operations Settings

Overview

The Operations settings let you control how your restaurant handles orders automatically — including what happens when an order isn't accepted in time, the sound alert played when new orders arrive, and the tip options shown to customers at checkout.

How to Get There

  1. In the left sidebar, click Settings.
  2. Click Operations.

Auto Action on Cash Orders

When a cash order comes in, you have a set window of time to accept it manually. If no one accepts it in time, Ressto can either cancel the order or accept it automatically on your behalf.

  1. Toggle Auto Action on Cash Orders on to enable this feature.
  2. Choose what should happen when the time runs out:
    • Auto-cancel order — The order is cancelled and the customer receives a cancellation email. This is the customer-protection mode.
    • Auto-accept order — The order is automatically accepted and pushed to the kitchen, so nothing stalls even if staff are busy. This is the kitchen-flow mode.
  1. Select how long the restaurant has to manually accept the order before the auto-action kicks in: 1 min, 3 min, 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 20 min, 30 min, 45 min, or 60 min.

Note: This setting applies to cash orders only. Online-paid orders are never auto-accepted by this rule.

Order Alert Sound

Choose the sound that plays on your dashboard and on the Order Taking mobile app when a new order arrives.

Click the play button next to each option to preview it, then select the one you prefer:

  • Classic ping
  • Pager beeps
  • Tick tack
  • Tring

Your selection is saved automatically.

Restaurant Tip Presets

Suggest tip amounts to customers at the checkout screen. You can set different tip suggestions for each service type (Delivery, Takeaway, Dine-in).

  1. Enter your suggested tip percentages or amounts for each service type.
  2. Customers will see these as quick-tap options at checkout, along with the option to enter a custom amount.
  3. Leave the fields empty to hide the tip section entirely from customers.

Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page when done.
