How to Customize Your Restaurant Storefront
How to Customize Your Restaurant Storefront
When customers order through a delivery aggregator, your restaurant is one tile in a crowded list. When they order from your own Ressto storefront, the page looks like you: your logo, your colors, your food photography. That is the point of owning your ordering channel, and the Appearance settings are where you set it up.
Where to find it
Settings → Appearance

1. Add your logo
Upload a square logo, ideally 200 × 200 px in PNG or SVG with a transparent background. PNG, JPG and WEBP all work, but square images render best. Use Replace to swap it or Remove to start over.
2. Set your cover photo
The cover photo is the banner at the top of your ordering page, the first thing a customer sees. The recommended size is 1200 × 400 px, with a 1 MB maximum file size.
Tips:
- Choose a photo with the focal point near the center, since banners can crop differently on different screens.
- Compress your image before uploading to stay under 1 MB.
Example: Jade & Ember uses a branded banner with short trust messages (authentic recipes, wok-crafted perfection, fresh ingredients, warm hospitality). It sells the experience before the customer reads a single menu item.
3. Pick your brand color
Your brand color is used for buttons and accents across your ordering page. You have two ways to set it:
- Theme presets: 13 ready-made swatches, from deep navy and black through red, orange, green, teal, blue, and purple.
- Custom hex: Enter your exact brand code (for example,
#0f172a) and click Save color.

4. Choose your theme: Modern or Classic
Your theme sets the overall look of your storefront menu. Here is how each one looks to your customers, using the Jade & Ember storefront.

Modern (default)

Modern is built for browsing. Customers see:
- Category tabs across the top (All, Offers, Biryani, Authentic Chinese, Dim Sum, Indo-Chinese), so they can jump straight to what they want.
- A grid of item cards, three across on desktop, each with a photo, name, short description, price and an Add button.
- A search bar next to the “All Items” heading.
- Highlight badges such as NEW and BESTSELLER on individual dishes.
Modern also gives you the most control. You can choose the storefront layout and menu item layout (covered in the next section). It works best for menus with many categories and strong food photography, because customers can scan lots of dishes at once.
Classic

Classic is a clean, stacked menu that reads top to bottom. Customers see:
- Every category in its own section (Offers, Biryani, Authentic Chinese and so on), each with an item count and a collapse/expand arrow.
- Wide item cards with a smaller photo on the left, the name and description beside it, and the price and Add button on the right.
- A search bar at the top of the menu instead of a tab row.
Classic suits restaurants that want a simple, menu-like feel, where customers scroll through the whole offering and collapse the sections they don’t need. The category and item layout options below don’t apply to this theme.
6. Set the default storefront theme (light or dark)
The Default storefront theme toggle decides which version customers see on their first visit. With it set to Light, first-time visitors get the light theme.
