Advanced Settings: Configure Additional Item Options
The Advanced Settings section allows you to control additional rules and information for a menu item. These settings help manage availability, ordering, pricing, packaging, customer instructions, and product information.

1. Show only for
This setting controls which service types the item is available for.
- You can restrict the item to specific services, such as Dine-in, Takeaway, or Delivery.
- If All services is selected, the item will be available across all applicable service types.
- Use this option when an item is only suitable for a particular service.
Example: An item may be available for Dine-in only and not for delivery.
2. Stock Quantity
This setting allows you to specify how many units of the item are currently available.
- Enter a quantity to limit how many units customers can order.
- Blank means the stock is untracked/unlimited.
- 0 means the item is sold out.
- When a quantity is entered, the available quantity decreases as customers place orders.
Example: If Stock Quantity is set to 4, customers can order a maximum of four units based on the available stock.
3. Order Quantity Limits
This setting controls the minimum and maximum number of units a customer can order in a single order.
- You can set a minimum quantity if customers must order at least a certain number.
- You can set a maximum quantity to prevent customers from ordering more than a specified amount.
- No limit means there is no additional quantity restriction.
Example: You could set the minimum to 2 and the maximum to 5, meaning customers must order between 2 and 5 units.
4. Packaging Charge
This setting allows you to add an additional packaging fee to the item.
- The charge is added per item.
- It is generally used for delivery or takeaway packaging costs.
- Enter the amount you want to charge for packaging.
Example: If the packaging charge is $2, an additional $2 is added for each applicable item.
5. Compare-at Price
This setting allows you to display an original price alongside the current selling price.
- It is commonly used to show a discount or promotion.
- The compare-at price is displayed as the struck-through original price.
- The current selling price remains the price the customer pays.
- If it is Off, no original/struck-through price is displayed.
Example:
Compare-at Price: $90
Selling Price: ₹80
Customers can see that the item has been reduced from ₹90 to ₹80.
6. Labels
Labels allow you to add badges or tags to the item on the storefront/menu.
- These labels help customers quickly understand something about the item.
- They can be used for things such as New, Bestseller, depending on the available labels.
- In the example, the item has the New label.
Example: A newly introduced dish can have a New badge displayed on its menu card.
7. Special Instruction Required
This setting determines whether customers must provide special instructions when ordering the item.
- When enabled, the customer is taken to the item page when they tap Add.
- The customer can then enter a special request or instruction.
- It is useful when the item may require customer-specific preparation instructions.
Example: A customer could enter instructions such as “Less spicy” or “No onions.”
If the setting is marked Required, the customer must provide the required information before completing the relevant item selection.
8. Advance Item Details
This section is used to provide additional information about the menu item.
It can include details such as:
- Ingredients
- Allergens
- Additives
- Nutrition facts
This information helps customers understand what the item contains and make more informed choices.
Example: For a Chicken Biryani, you could provide the ingredients used, identify relevant allergens, list additives if applicable, and provide nutritional information.
