# How to Verify Google Analytics Tracking

# How to Verify Google Analytics Tracking

## Overview

After connecting Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to your restaurant dashboard, you can check whether visits to your storefront are being recorded.

## Step 1: Confirm Tracking Is Enabled

1. Log in to your restaurant dashboard.
2. Navigate to **Settings → Integrations**.
3. Open the **Google Analytics** integration.
4. Confirm that **Enable tracking** is turned on.
5. Verify that the **Tracking ID** contains the correct Measurement ID beginning with `G-`.

## Step 2: Open Google Analytics

1. Visit [Google Analytics](https://analytics.google.com/).
2. Sign in to the Google account connected to your website.
3. Select the correct property for your restaurant storefront.

## Step 3: Open the Realtime Report

1. Open **Reports** in Google Analytics.
2. Navigate to **Realtime**.
3. Open your restaurant storefront in another browser tab or window.
4. Browse a few pages to generate activity.
5. Check whether your visit appears in the Realtime report.

## Step 4: Allow Time for Data to Appear

Tracking data may not appear immediately. Wait a few minutes and refresh the Realtime report.
If no activity appears, continue with the checks below.

## Step 5: Troubleshoot Missing Tracking Data

* Confirm that **Enable tracking** is turned on in your restaurant dashboard.
* Verify that the Tracking ID matches the Measurement ID in the correct Google Analytics Web data stream.
* Make sure you are viewing the correct Google Analytics property.
* Check whether browser extensions, ad blockers, or consent settings are preventing analytics from loading.
* If the issue continues, contact platform support with a description of the issue and screenshots of the relevant settings. Hide sensitive account information.

## Important Notes

* The Realtime report is useful for checking recent activity, but it may not show every visit.
* Standard reports can take longer to process and display data.
* Do not use a real customer's personal information when testing tracking.

## Quick Checklist

* Google Analytics tracking is enabled.
* The correct Measurement ID is saved.
* The correct Google Analytics property is selected.
* The Realtime report is open.
* A storefront visit has been tested.
* Missing data has been investigated if necessary.
