# How to Troubleshoot Catering Custom Fields Not Appearing After Saving

# How to Troubleshoot Catering Custom Fields Not Appearing After Saving

## Overview

Ressto allows restaurant owners to add custom questions to their Catering enquiry form. If a custom field does not appear on the storefront after saving, check the field configuration and confirm that the changes were saved correctly.

## Where to Find It

1. Log in to your Ressto admin dashboard.
2. Go to **Settings → Catering**.
3. Locate the **Custom fields** section.

## 1. Verify That the Custom Field Exists

1. Open the **Custom fields** section.
2. Check whether the custom field is listed.
3. Verify the field label.
4. Confirm that the appropriate field type is selected.
5. If the field is missing, add it again using **+ Add custom field**.

## 2. Save the Configuration

1. Review the custom field label and type.
2. Check the **Required** toggle.
3. Click **Save changes**.
4. Wait for the dashboard to finish processing the update.

The Required setting determines whether guests must answer the question. It does not, by itself, confirm that the field is displayed on the storefront.

## 3. Reload the Catering Storefront

1. Open your Catering storefront.
2. Reload the page.
3. Navigate to the enquiry form.
4. Check whether the custom field appears.
5. If it is still missing, return to the dashboard and verify that the configuration was retained.

## 4. Check the Field Configuration Again

If the issue continues:

1. Return to **Settings → Catering → Custom fields**.
2. Verify that the field is still listed.
3. Check the label and field type.
4. Save the changes again if you made any corrections.
5. Reload the storefront and check once more.

## 5. Contact Ressto Support if the Issue Continues

If the custom field is correctly configured but still does not appear:

1. Capture a screenshot of the custom field configuration.
2. Capture a screenshot of the Catering storefront where the field is missing.
3. Note the field label and the steps you followed.
4. Share these details with Ressto support for further investigation.

## Important Notes

* Confirm that the field is listed in the dashboard before troubleshooting the storefront.
* Save changes after adding or modifying custom fields.
* Reload the storefront before concluding that the field is missing.
* Do not assume the issue is resolved until you verify the result.

## Quick Checklist

* Confirmed that the custom field exists.
* Reviewed the field label and type.
* Saved the configuration.
* Reloaded the Catering storefront.
* Checked whether the field appears.
* Collected screenshots if further support is required.
