# How to Manage Takeaway Tip Settings

# How to Manage Takeaway Tip Settings

|| The Tips settings allow you to configure suggested tip amounts that customers can select during checkout for takeaway orders.

Customers can also enter a **custom tip amount** if they want to give an amount different from the suggested options.

### Where to Find It

Go to:

**Settings → Takeaway → Tips**

### 1. Add Tip Presets

Under **Restaurant tip presets**, you can add suggested tip amounts that will be displayed to customers at checkout.

Enter the amount in the **Add a preset** field and click **+ Add**.

You can add up to **10 tip presets**, with a maximum total of **100%** when using percentage-based tips.

**Example:**

* 10%
* 20%
* 30%

Customers will see these options when they reach checkout.

### 2. Select Tip Type

The **Tip type** dropdown provides two options:

#### Percentage of Order

Select **Percentage of order** when you want the tip to be calculated as a percentage of the customer's order.

For example, if the order is **₹1,000** and the customer selects a **10%** tip:

**₹1,000 × 10% = ₹100 tip**

The current tip presets will therefore be displayed as percentages.

#### Fixed Amount

Select **Fixed Amount** when you want to offer specific monetary tip amounts.

For example:

* ₹50
* ₹100
* ₹200

If the customer selects **₹100**, the tip added to the order will be **₹100**, regardless of the order total.

||| Important: The Current presets are based on the selected Tip type. If you change the Tip type from Percentage of order to Fixed Amount, the presets will work as fixed monetary amounts instead.

### 3. Current Presets

The **Current presets** section shows all the tip options currently configured.

Each preset includes:

* The configured tip amount
* A **Default** toggle
* An **X** button to remove the preset

You can add up to **10 presets**.

### 4. Set a Default Tip

Use the **Default** toggle next to a preset to make it the preselected tip option at checkout.

For example, if you have:

* 10%
* 20%
* 30%

and set **20%** as the default, the **20% tip** will be selected automatically when the customer reaches checkout.

If no preset is selected as default, no tip will be preselected.

### 5. Remove a Tip Preset

To remove an existing tip option, click the **X** icon next to that preset.

You can remove any preset that you no longer want to offer to customers.

### 6. Custom Tip Amount

Customers are not limited to the suggested presets. They can also enter a **custom tip amount** at checkout.
This allows customers to choose an amount that is different from the available presets.

### 7. Save Your Changes

After configuring your tip presets and selecting the appropriate tip type, click **Save changes**.
Your updated tip options will then be available to customers during checkout.

### Example

If you select **Percentage of order** and add:

* 10%
* 20%
* 30%

customers can select one of these percentages at checkout, or enter a custom tip.

If you instead select **Fixed Amount** and add:

* ₹50
* ₹100
* ₹200

customers will see these fixed amounts as their suggested tip options.
