# How to Manage Takeaway Order Scheduling

# How to Manage Takeaway Order Scheduling

|| The Scheduling settings allow you to control how customers schedule takeaway orders in advance. You can define how early customers can place an order, how pickup time slots are spaced, and how many orders can be accepted per slot.

### Where to Find Scheduling

Go to:

**Settings → Takeaway → Scheduling**

### 1. Schedule Advance Orders

Turn on **Schedule Advance Orders** to allow customers to place takeaway orders for a future time.

When enabled, you can configure the following settings:

#### Minimum time in advance

| Set the minimum amount of time customers must wait before their scheduled order.

For example, if you set it to **30 minutes**, customers cannot schedule an order for a time less than 30 minutes from the current time.

You can set the value in:

* Minutes
* Other available time units

#### Maximum time in advance

Set how far into the future customers can schedule their orders.

For example, if you set this to **7 days**, customers can schedule an order up to 7 days in advance.

### 2. Time Gap Between Slots

| The Time gap between slots controls how frequently available ordering time slots are displayed to customers.

For example, if you select **30 minutes**, customers may see slots such as:

* 2:00 PM
* 2:30 PM
* 3:00 PM
* 3:30 PM

This determines the spacing between available scheduled-order slots.

### 3. First Order Offset

| The First order offset (minutes) determines how many minutes after the restaurant opens the first scheduled order slot becomes available.

For example, if your restaurant opens at **5:00 PM** and the offset is set to **15 minutes**, the first available scheduled slot will be **5:15 PM**.

### 4. Show Slot as a Range

| Enable Show slot as a range if you want customers to see a time window instead of a specific time.

**When enabled:**

Customers may see:

**10:00 AM – 11:00 AM**

**When disabled:**

Customers will see:

**10:00 AM**

This can be useful when you want to provide customers with a pickup time window rather than an exact time.

### 5. Allow Only Scheduled Orders

| Enable Allow only scheduled orders if you want customers to place scheduled orders only for this takeaway service.

When enabled, customers must select a future time slot.

Immediate **ASAP ordering** will be disabled for the service.

If this option is disabled, customers can continue to place immediate orders as well as scheduled orders, depending on your other settings.

### 6. Max Orders Per Slot

| The Max orders per slot setting controls how many orders your restaurant can accept for each available time slot.

For example, if you set the maximum to **N**, up to N orders can be accepted for the same time slot.

Once the limit is reached, that slot will no longer be available for additional orders.

|| Important: A value of 0 means there is no limit on the number of orders per time slot.

### 7. Save Your Scheduling Settings

| After making changes, click Save Scheduling to apply the scheduling settings.

For **Max orders per slot**, click **Save** after setting the required limit.

### Example

Suppose you configure:

* **Minimum time in advance:** 30 minutes
* **Maximum time in advance:** 7 days
* **Time gap between slots:** 30 minutes
* **First order offset:** 15 minutes
* **Show slot as a range:** Enabled
* **Max orders per slot:** N

|| Customers will be able to schedule takeaway orders up to 30 days in advance, with the earliest available time based on the 30-minute minimum advance time and your restaurant's operating hours. Available slots will be spaced every 30 minutes, displayed as time ranges, with a maximum of N orders per slot.
