# How to Manage General Table Reservation Settings

# How to Manage General Table Reservation Settings

## Overview

The General settings allow restaurant owners to configure how table reservations work on their storefront. You can customize the reservation display name, add notes for customers, set guest limits, and control how far in advance reservations can be made.

All fields are optional unless marked otherwise.

## Where to Find It

Go to **Settings → Table Reservation → General**.

## How to Configure General Settings

### 1. Display Name

Enter the public name you want customers to see for your reservation service.

**Example:** “Reserve a Table”

If you leave this field blank, the system defaults to **Book a Table**.

### 2. Notes

Add important information that customers should know before submitting a reservation.

You can include details such as your booking policy, cancellation policy, or dress code.

**Example:** “Bookings are confirmed within an hour during business hours.”

These notes appear on the customer-facing booking form.

### 3. Minimum No. of Guests

Set the minimum number of guests allowed per reservation.

**Example:** Enter `2` to require at least two guests.

Leave this field blank if you do not want to set a minimum.

### 4. Maximum No. of Guests

Set the maximum number of guests allowed per reservation.

**Example:** Enter `10` to limit reservations to a maximum of ten guests.

Leave this field blank if you do not want to set a maximum.

### 5. Maximum Days Ahead

Specify how many days in advance customers can book a table.

**Example:** Enter `7` to allow customers to book up to seven days ahead.

### 6. Time Interval (mins)

Set the gap between available reservation time slots.

**Example:** If you set the interval to `30` minutes, available slots may be offered at 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, and so on, depending on your reservation hours and availability.

### 7. Booking Lead Time (mins)

Set how far in advance a reservation must be made. This determines the earliest booking slot customers can select.

**Example:** Enter `60` to require reservations to be made at least 60 minutes before the selected booking time.

### 8. Save Your Changes

After configuring the fields, click **Save changes** to apply your settings.

## Example Configuration

Suppose you configure the following:

* Display name: Reserve a Table
* Minimum guests: 2
* Maximum guests: 10
* Maximum days ahead: 7
* Time interval: 30 minutes
* Booking lead time: 60 minutes

Customers can request reservations for 2–10 guests, up to seven days ahead, using the available time slots. They must book at least 60 minutes before their selected slot.

## Important Notes

* Leaving the minimum or maximum guest field blank removes that specific limit.
* The time interval determines the spacing between available booking slots; it does not define your restaurant's operating hours.
* Reservation hours are configured separately under **Book a table Hours**.
* Actual availability also depends on your operating hours and other reservation settings.
* The notes field is intended for information customers should see on the booking form.
* Review the booking form on your storefront after saving to confirm that your settings appear as expected.

## Final Checklist

Before finishing, confirm that:

* The display name is correct.
* Customer-facing notes are clear.
* Guest limits match your reservation policy.
* The maximum advance booking period is appropriate.
* The time interval and booking lead time are configured correctly.
* You clicked **Save changes**.
