1. Visit the [PayPal Developer Dashboard](https://developer.paypal.com/dashboard/).
2. Sign in with your PayPal account.
3. Open **Apps & Credentials**.
4. Select the appropriate environment: **Sandbox** for testing or **Live** for real payments.
5. Open an existing application or create one if required.
6. Copy the **Client ID** and **Secret** for the selected environment.

Keep your Secret confidential. Do not share it in public screenshots or support messages.

## Step 2: Configure PayPal

In the **Connect PayPal** window, configure the available fields.

### Enable PayPal

Use the toggle to enable or disable PayPal as a payment method on your storefront.

### Require Consent Before Payment

Enable this option if customers must accept your Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy before placing an order using PayPal.

The relevant legal content pages must be activated before this option can be enabled.

### Display Name

The **Display Name (Shown to Customers)** field controls how PayPal appears on your storefront.

* Enter a custom display name if required.
* Leave it blank to use the provider's default name.

### Client ID

Paste the PayPal Client ID from your selected environment into the **Client ID** field.

### Secret

Paste the corresponding PayPal Secret into the **Secret** field.

Make sure both credentials belong to the same PayPal application and environment.

## Step 3: Save the Configuration

1. Review the entered credentials.
2. Confirm that the selected environment matches your intended setup.
3. Click **Save**.
4. Check the gateway status on the Payment Gateways page.

## Step 4: Test the Payment Method

1. Open your restaurant storefront.
2. Proceed to checkout using an appropriate test order.
3. Confirm that PayPal appears as a payment option when enabled.
4. Test the payment flow in the Sandbox environment before accepting live payments.
5. Switch to Live credentials when you are ready to accept real payments.

## Troubleshooting

If PayPal does not work as expected:

* Verify that the Client ID and Secret are correct.
* Confirm that both credentials belong to the same environment.
* Check that PayPal is enabled in your restaurant dashboard.
* Confirm that your PayPal account is configured to receive payments.
* Contact platform support if the issue continues.

Never send your PayPal Secret in screenshots or support messages.

## Important Notes

* Sandbox credentials are for testing; Live credentials are for real transactions.
* The Client ID and Secret must belong to the same PayPal application.
* Enable the consent requirement only after activating the required legal content pages.
* The available configuration fields may depend on the payment gateway setup in your dashboard.

* Correct environment selected.
* Client ID copied.
* Secret copied securely.
* Credentials entered in the restaurant dashboard.
* Display name and consent settings reviewed.
