# How to Configure Fixed-Amount or Percentage Tips for Dine-in

## Overview

Restaurant owners can choose how tips are calculated for dine-in orders. The dashboard provides two tip types: **Fixed Amount** and **Percentage of Order**.

Selecting the appropriate type helps you configure tip options that suit your restaurant.

## Where to Find It

Go to **Settings → Dine-in → Tips**.

## How to Set Fixed-Amount Tips

1. Open the **Tips** tab.
2. Select **Fixed Amount** as the tip type.
3. Enter the tip amounts you want to offer.
4. Use **+ Add** to add more preset amounts, if available.
5. Review the configured presets.
6. Click **Save changes**.

### Example

You could configure these preset amounts:

* ₹20
* ₹50
* ₹100

Customers can select from the configured amounts when the tip section is available at checkout.

## How to Set Percentage Tips

1. Open **Settings → Dine-in → Tips**.
2. Select **Percentage of Order**.
3. Enter the percentages you want to offer.
4. Add more presets if needed.
5. Review the configured percentages.
6. Click **Save changes**.

### Example

You could configure these preset percentages:

* 5%
* 10%
* 15%

The tip amount is calculated as a percentage of the applicable order value.

## How to Choose Between the Two Types

* Choose **Fixed Amount** if you want to offer specific monetary amounts.
* Choose **Percentage of Order** if you want the tip to vary according to the order value.

## Important Notes

* Review your selected tip type before saving.
* Configure presets according to your restaurant's preferences.
* The available options at checkout depend on your tip settings and storefront configuration.
* If you change the tip type, review the presets to ensure they match the selected type.

## Final Step

Click **Save changes** and review the dine-in checkout to confirm that your tip options appear as intended.
